The question of the reality of the resurrection isn’t just a secondary issue, it is THE MOST IMPORTANT claim of Christianity.
We say that Jesus is the hope of the world. And today we celebrate that HOPE IS ALIVE. But if Jesus didn’t rise from the dead then hope isn’t really alive. If he didn’t rise from the dead then hope; at least the Christian hope is dead. If he didn’t rise then he doesn’t really have power over sin and death. If he didn’t rise then his death was just another tragedy of man cut down in the prime of life. If he didn’t rise then his teachings were at best the mislead musings of a delusional wannabe rabbi and at worst the ravings of a malicious false prophet.
If he didn’t rise then Christianity is false and should be ignored. If he didn’t rise then we have no hope of future resurrection; at least in the Christian sense. And this life is all there is; this life where we have to take the good and beautiful along with so much pain, tragedy, and evil.
But if he did rise.... That changes everything.
Listen to find out what the resurrection of Jesus has to do with us today and evidence that it actually happened.
