“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.” Psalms 84:5-7 NIV
Blessed are those strength is in You. We weren’t created to make it through difficult times on our own. God created you to need Him.
And it says you are blessed if your strength is in Him, so you are actually a more biblical Christian if you aren’t carrying things by yourself.
God is not impressed by our strength - nor is He disappointed in our weakness.
MAKE IT A WELL
The Valley of Baka refers to a desert place, Baka is translated as “weeping” so it's the Valley of Weeping.
When we are going through a place where we feel alone, or scared, or sad, or just hurting… that is Baka.
“Who passing through the valley of Baka make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.” Psalms 84:6 KJV
When we go through difficulties, God can make it a well. Wells are dug in places that there is no water. Places where life wouldn’t otherwise exist but it can because someone dug in the middle of dry land until they found life source.
This verse is saying, for those who find their strength in Jesus, they will still go through the Valley of Weeping but they can dig a well there.
